Polymeric Sand Resanding

Polymeric Sand Resanding in Kitchener

Resanding is more involved than it looks — old sand and any weed growth need to come out of the joints first (often with a specialized joint-cleaning tool or light pressure washing), the surface needs to be fully dry before new sand goes in, and the sand needs to be compacted into the joints properly before a light misting activates the polymer binder. Rush any of those steps and the sand either doesn't bond right or washes out again within a season.

Crews match sand colour to your existing pavers (several shades available) and work in sections on larger areas so the activation timing stays controlled.

Polymeric Sand Resanding FAQs

How long does resanding take?

A standard patio is usually done in half a day to a full day, including cleaning, sanding and activation. Larger driveways may take longer.

Can I walk on it right after?

Light foot traffic is usually fine soon after, but vehicles and heavy use should wait 24–48 hours for full cure, depending on weather.

Will this fix gaps where pavers have shifted?

Resanding locks pavers back in place and stops further shifting, but pavers that have already sunk or shifted significantly may need re-leveling first — ask us to check for this.

Does the colour match my existing pavers?

Yes — polymeric sand comes in several shades and crews match to your existing joints as closely as possible.
